Hey c3isdn folks and other like-minded creatures,
I've been playing with french Minitels[1] for the last year. They're basically a 1980s terminal that cobbles together a V23 modem with a teletext (videotext/bildschirmtext/...) chip. I've got a software emulation of the server side running, where I can build some videotext pages. I've used that in a few events in France so far.
I wasn't planning to bring minitels to 38c3 because they're bulky and I'm coming by train but if you're running a PSTN network I kind of feel like I have to. I don't really have an assembly to feature them, do you think I could borrow a seat or two at a table near POC with you to showcase them?
Also, if anyone close to POC is able to snipe extension 3615 that would be cool - I'm not able to register it, but I also don't see it in the phonebook. 3615 is the historical short number for commercial services on the minitel in France, and anyone over 30 who grew up here is likely to try dialing that number first if they find a working minitel.
Anyway, thanks for setting up an analog network, that's really cool!
Cheers, korfuri

As I believe I responded-to at another venue: You are more than welcome to put one minitel up at the [meanwhile officially accepted] retronetworking assembly.
Looking forward to meeting you.
